I have a job, thankyouverymuch. My work from last year hired me back. I start in May and I will make wads of cash in order to fund my studies for next year. And it will be good.
And I just spent several minutes trying to figure out what emoticon to use to demonstrate that I am simultaneously making the rock-on fingers, throwing my arms up in the air, and grinning like a mad woman.
Well, no. I have another year of M.A., but that's basicly working on my thesis (YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Then about three or four years of PhD. THEN I'm done.
(HA HA HAomg. What am I doing?! I must be insane to sign up for this line of work!!)
YES! Thesis. That which I have been hanging on through the craziness of this year for. My shining beacon.
I'm actually going to start researching it this summer. I'm going to be ordering wads and wads of microfilm from the Center for Research Libraries in Chicago (my university is a member of that handy little institution, which has just hundreds of newspapers from all over the world on microfilm) and wading through them during the evenings and weekends when I'm not working.
