in_steadIn a nasty turn of events, I got my bag stolen in central London yesterday. It was quite a brazen bit of business -- I was sitting at a table with five big guys and someone at the table behind us reached down over the back of the couch, grabbed the bag, and pulled it around without anyone noticing. I had the bag shoved pretty far under my chair, but I guess the strap was trailiing out a little too far. Not only that, though, but there are three CCTV cameras pointing at the table they were sitting at when they did this.
Anyway, they left the bag itself behind, with my notebook and pens and the like, which is an upside. The downside is that they stole my wallet, my Nintendo DS Lite, the BF's Nintendo DS and about eight games, and my phone. All told, a lot of collective value.
I went down to the police station and filed a report, so we'll see what comes of it. The guy working at the pub said you could see them grab the bag and go through it on the security feed, which is better than it could be.
Still.
