So, my mother walked up to me at lunch and said, "You have a two hour break before your next class, right? I am up against a bit of a scheduling wall -- could you go home and let the dogs out for me?"
"Sure!" I said, the ever helpful daughter.
So off I trundled. Down the hill, around the corner, onto the highway. Given the snow and freezing rain that has been falling since this morning, I drove very, very carefully.
Not, apparently, carefully enough.
Coming around a curve on the highway at a speedy 50km/h, I fishtailed then slid into a 360 degree spin before slamming backwards into a ditch. My undercarriage got hung up on a frozen ridge and my rear tires got wedged deep into a very soft snow bank.
Thankfully, three very nice men, with three very nice trucks, two very nice sons, one very nice daughter, and assorted shovels and ropes between them, got me out. It only took forty-five minutes.
Then, like the good, studious person I am, I went back to school for my 3:30-5:30 class.
