I accidentally made my mother cry. I'm not sure exactly how, but I did. Actually, I think it was something else and I just said something that was close enough to the other thing, but still, I was the one who put the straw on the pile that broke her back and I wish I hadn't, because it is upsetting that I made her cry.

She also broke our coffee pot and there will be no coffee for anyone tomorrow morning. This may be kharmic punishment for the fact that I made my mother cry. It seems fitting -- a lack of coffee tomorrow will likely make me cry, too.
