Wow. Liek. It's early and things.

A bunch of people in my section, in recognition of the fact that we haven't seen each other for a couple of weeks and that it was cheap wings night at one of the sports bars in town, went out for dinner last night. I was one of them. Somehow dinner lasted until 11:30. I didn't get home until a little after midnight. But I was full of wings, which was very nice.

Now I am quite tired, though.

In other news, there is a potluck at my house tonight for all the people going to Kenya in February. I have made an African vegetable stew thing, which, much to my surprise, seems to have turned out edible. Of course, given my cooking, it may be edible but lethal. I am feeding some of it to one of the guys in my section for lunch today. If he's dead by the end of afternoon classes, I'll know to pick up a shrimp ring on the way home tonight.

So, while I wait for the coffee to kick in, I thought that I might post pictures of my bedroom, which I have painted a pretty colour and set up most attractively. In my opinion. You are, of course, welcome to disagree.

I need new icons. I have no happy ones.

oooooooh! i *love* the color. i'd never have the nerve to do a color that rich, but it's really gorgeous.

It is my favourite colour. It is also the colour of the stripe on my bike. Which I realised when I brought my bike into the house after moving from Ottawa, propped it against the wall, and stepped a couple of paces back.

I was forced to facepalm. My mother was forced to laugh at me.

Wow. It's so... clean. The colour is way nice, too.

It's really not big enough a room to allow for untidiness. I do tend to have towels or shirts or hats hooked over the posts on my bedframe and a little more clutter on my bedside table than the pictures show, I have to admit.

Laurens, it occurs to me now that I never replied when you said something about coming to Ottawa in December. Please tell me more. Are you still thinking of doing so?

I am a wee bit with the brokes right now, but I might be able to come for a weekend or so the end of November or the first few days of December. A few things permitting, of course, but I'm starting to talk about it so I think it'll be a go if you'll have me. :X

I'm not quite as tidy as the pictures would make it seem, although the room really isn't big enough to allow for too much mess. There does tend to be towels over the bedposts and a bit more clutter on the bedside table than appears in the photos.

I finally worked up the never to paint a room my favourite colour, which is that very rich blue. I'm so pleased it turned out.
