(no subject)

So, I'm sitting here beside a cup of Tim Horton's coffee in the beautiful Kenya mug mcee gave me last April, both of which my dad brought me up from Canada when he visited last weekend, and it is so good that I don't even care that it's 5:30 in the morning and I woke up and can't get back to sleep!

A short form update from the last time I was able to get access to the internet:
- COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE!
- I finally got my bike sorted out!
- my dad visited -- lots of fun!
- we went up to Cambridge for the weekend and I confirmed that the Stead papers are there, despite recent suggestions that they aren't.
- my dad left on Monday.
- taught, taught, taught.
- helped supervise the after-school activities organised by my department head for Black History month -- last night was a cooking competition in the school's food tech rooms making Jamaican recipes, and tonight is a themed talent show thing with stuff like drama sketches of the Rosa Parks story and the like.

Coming up:
- my last three days of teaching cover before taking over my own class!
- October half-term break!

I have this feeling there is probably a lot more that I can't remember -- see: 5:30 in the morning -- but there you go.
