27 March 2005 10:26 amAn hour and change after I finally fell asleep, my sister came into my room and shook me awake. With a massive cup of coffee in hand, I bumbled after her around the house, looking for easter eggs.
Never mind that my sister is fifteen and I'm twenty-two, and our easter baskets now contain more in the way of stationary and toiletries than chocolate, we're not ready to give up hunting for eggs on easter morning. My mother and father aren't quite ready to give up hiding them, either, especially as my sister and I are now old enough that they can hide them in some really interesting places, liked tucked into the curves of one of the African carvings that are scattered around our house, or stuck between the teeth of one of my dad's collection of masks, which hang in the upper hallway.
The first egg I found was sitting on top of the coffee maker, because my parents love me and know me well.
