An example of an unhelpful thought process:

Right.

I need that article on the Victorian ethos of anonymous authorship. Where is that article? Ah, I know! It's in the grey book. Now, where is the grey book? Do I have it out of the library? No, I do not. I had it out and read that article in the process of writing last year's historiography essay. Do I remember the title of the grey book? The editor?

Nope.

Bugger.

The problem with press history is that it is written about and frequently by journalists. And those bastards really know how to write. So well, in fact, that I loath to paraphrase.

*resists temptation to turn entire thesis into a series of long quotes linked by words like therefore and however*

eta: Bugger me, have forgotten how to cite archival documents again.

I am now two days beyond my supply of clean knickers. It is ridiculous. I am going to do laundry tonight, no really, this time. Not like the last three or four times I said I was going to do it, but fell asleep on the couch instead.

I may also take back the movie I've had out from Blockbuster for the past three weeks -- I'm testing the boundaries of the No Late Fees thing.

As well, I hereby resolve to stop taking baths as a means of procrastination. Yes, I am clean. I am really, really clean. Especially yesterday, when I took two baths (instead of doing laundry). But just because I am naked and wet does not mean that the time I'm wasting doesn't count.

EXCITING OMG GUYS. LIEK WOW. MY LIFE AND STUFF.

My parents are getting a new puppy! It's a minature collie, the same as my dog Bonnie, who died a couple of years ago at the age of fifteen.

They let me name the puppy and I, because nobody was quick enough to stop me, decided to call her Wellesley. Wellesley isn't old enough to be separated from her mother, yet, but the breeder sent us a picture of her. She's so tiny and adorable.

eeeeeee puppy! )
