Because I can, because I've got a little breathing space for the time being, I haven't been setting an alarm for the past couple of mornings. I figure I need to catch up from last week's averaging of four or five hours of sleep a night.

Well.

I've woken up both mornings within fifteen minutes of when my alarm would have gone off. And I've only managed five and four and a half hours of sleep, respectively.

Out of spite towards my body for being so bloody disagreeable as to not let me sleep in, I refuse to get out of bed until I'm damn good and ready. So there.

Good morning (and it is, it is!)!

My stupid well-trained body clock is the same way; setting the alarm is really just habit at this point. I almost always wake up before it goes off. Is most vexing.

I just want to take my body aside and say, "look, you didn't go to sleep until almost three in the morning -- why do you insist on waking up at 7:30? do you think you're missing out on something? trust me -- nothing's going on worth waking up for!"

How do you do with midday naps? I can't take them, because I inevitably wake up cranky, but if you can, you should.

I'm afraid I go the other way with naps -- if I give in to the urge to have one, I end up sleeping all day and into the evening. Then I've lost a day and I have even more trouble sleeping that night.

Bah, that's no good either, then. :(
