So, like, the thing about crutches, right, is that they're designed so that the non-injured muscles take the strain off the injured ones. But I fell skiing. I don't have non-injured muscles.

I am totally taking a cab to school tomorrow. It can pick me up at my front door and drop me off at the front door of the university.

You have to go to school????????? No. They can't possibly ask you to do that!!!! What about walking around, and the staircases and such??? And the iciness of Ottawa in general? What if you slip and injure some other limbs???

No. What you need is a lot of hot chocolate to down those codeine pills with (mmm! drugs! hee.), and lots and lots of TV.

Sadly, I do have to go in, as I have office hours and my students have a midterm next week. And while I could probably cancel the office hours with everyone's blessing, I'd feel bad, because the students are little and confused and need help. But after tomorrow, I very definately plan to hit the couch and stay there. At least for a couple of days.

Ah, yes, the touching naivete of new teachingdom! ;) I remember the time when I, too, kept my office hours despite being sick as a dog/injured. :)

If no students show up, may I suggest you break *their* legs, so they appreciate the efforts you go through for them whilst being paid a pittance of what you should be getting paid for the work you do. ;)

Take care of yourself! And empathetic careful hugs to you.
