Hee hee. Just raided David Hewlett's twitter list and, in a completely stalkerish way, added everyone cool he knows!

Me = the reason restraining orders were invented.

Woot woot! I am accomplished. And nearly done the website. But brain-fried after doing this for two days and so kicking my feet up and watching Supernatural reruns for the rest of the night.

Eff has made one of his famous(read: fierce and terrifyingly hot) pots of chilli and rice for dinner. Looking forward to that like woah.

Am considering abandoning my application for my teaching post1 and applying instead for this post.

1 Hi. Interviews on Friday. Tasks set around my regular teaching sechedule -- so through my free period and lunch. Interviews after school. But because they scheduled 24 people to be interviewed on one day for posts in three separate subjects, the History interviews will be taking place in 15 minute slots between 7 and 9 pm. That is, if everything runs on time. Which it never does. I figure I'll be lucky to get out of there by 10pm. Stress!

Head. Meet desk. *thunk*

I have been working like crazy of late and am dizzy with tiredness come about 9:30 or 10:00 at night. This is my explanation, and I am sticking to it, as to how I managed to knock a full glass of white wine over my laptop, which was sitting open.

And despite the fact that I immediately raced off to the kitchen to press a towel into the keyboard and turned it upside down to leave it to dry overnight, the laptop will no longer turn on. I hold hope that it will be possible to rescue the data from the hard drive, as when I plug it in it still registers as charging and there are similar signs of life. But I do not think I am being preemptory if I declare my baby officially dead.

It would seem that I am in the market for a new laptop. I am looking for something affordable, but am willing to shell out a bit for something worthwhile. PC a must, as Macs and I do not think the same way.

SUGGESTIONS AND RECS NEEDED PLZ THNX OMG.

Laptop still FUBAR, but have a lead on a good repair place from the every lovely, ever wonderful [livejournal.com profile] lazlet, so there is hope.

In a similar vein, work continues apace. I seem to have signed up for a ridiculous amount of it this year (volunteering to teach afterschool classes in Latin, representing my department on school committees, writing big chunks of our new schemes of work, and going for new qualifications all in one go), but I haven't dropped any of the balls I'm juggling yet, so I am encouraged.

As well, have moved in with BF. All very exciting. Still trying to figure out how to jam my stuff into the rather small nooks and crannies of his place. But it is, so far, going well. We are going to a Halloween party tonight -- as Mario and Luigi. It is excellent. We have overalls and caps and we have been dipping mushrooms into red and greeb food dye to make little Super Mushrooms and 1-Up Mushrooms.

In other news -- I have spent ages trying to figure out how to buy Danny Michel's new(ish) album from the UK and I can't! Nobody will sell it over here, not even on the internets! I want Coming Home, blast it all.

Am going to go make pumpkin soup to console myself for my lack of Danny Michel.

Dear hotspot at the head of my bed,

Hello! Good morning!

I missed you while you were gone.

Not to sound like your clingy girlfriend or anything, but please don't ever leave me again.

Yours with love,

OMG CRISIS. THE HOTSPOT AT THE HEAD OF MY BED IS NOT HOT RIGHT NOW. I AM HOPING THIS IS TEMPORARY. I DO NOT LIKE HAVING TO RANGE FURTHER AFIELD LOOKING FOR WARMTH.

Am doing best not to panic. Not particularly succeeding.

WHY WON'T HOTMAIL LET ME LOG IN?

I hereby fail Hotmail at life.

I REMEMBER THE OTHER SITE ON THE INTERNET NOW!

Oh, IMDB. How I did miss thee.

So, here's the thing. I have forgotten how to work the internet. I can't find the on switch anymore. I just keep bouncing between lj and bbc news. I think I remember there being more sites than just that...

Last night at home before heading back. In a mildly disgruntling turn of events, my flight from North Bay to Toronto at 8:00pm was cancelled and they've rebooked me on a flight that leaves at 3:40pm instead. Which, fine, okay, but my flight from Toronto to England doesn't leave until 11:00pm, which is going to make for a very long bloody wait in Pearson International Airport.

It will give me time to finish marking at least...

Anyway, I have chosen to spend my last evening at home alternatively packing, chasing up stray belongings through the house, cuddling with my cat as he tries to eat my face, watching Bones with my mother, and wading through months of fandom wank that I missed while I was OLWOL (off line without leave!).

Ah, fandom. And wank. How I have missed thee...s...es...esss.

What is the plural of "thee"?

Never mind.
